The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so you can tell the robot to stay clear of it.
The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't sweep in areas you don't would like. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.
Its design is also an improvement over the rest, with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robotic than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests the j7+ performed quick to remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in its place instead of scattering it on the floor. It was able capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not accomplish this feat. And it did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shedding.
The j7+, though not as intelligent as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, is still an option for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in the action.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, alter your home map, or re-label the rooms.
If you select the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once in place, emptying the bin is simple. It comes with a huge LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and changing settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design is one of the best in the industry however, it's costly.
It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot fully charged and clean.
And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovac I've tried that does a good job picking up the dust from floors with no. It's also not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly in the area of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning area for plush carpets.

If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper, but offers many more features, like the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, with a better overall vacuuming experience on bare floors, low-pile carpets and even high-pile carpets.

It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't require as much emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be emptied as often and it's less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
